Privacy Policy

PlatinPDF is a free online tool that converts office and document files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related formats) into real PDF files, available on the web and on mobile (Android and iOS). We built PlatinPDF to be privacy-first: we do not create accounts, we do not store your files, and we do not track you across the web. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain terms, what limited data we process, why, and the rights you have under applicable law. It also includes information about cookies and the Terms of Use that govern your use of the service. Please read it carefully; by using PlatinPDF you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

PlatinPDF is operated under the "BlueBytes" brand. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, the data controller responsible for the limited processing described in this policy is [Şirket unvanı ve adresi].

2. What Data We Process

PlatinPDF is designed to work with as little data as possible. We only process what is technically necessary to convert your document and to keep the service secure and available. Specifically:

  • The files you upload for conversion. These are processed temporarily and solely to produce the requested PDF. See Section 3 for exactly how they are handled and deleted.
  • Your IP address. Our server temporarily processes your IP address to enforce rate limits and to protect the service against abuse (for example, automated flooding). This is standard server security and logging.
  • Basic technical request information that any web server necessarily receives (such as the time of the request and general connection metadata), used only for operating and securing the service.

3. How We Handle Your Files

This is the most important part of our commitment to you. Conversion runs on our own servers using LibreOffice (via Gotenberg). It is a stateless process: your file is held only in the short window needed to convert it.

As soon as the conversion finishes, both the file you uploaded and the PDF we generated are deleted immediately from our servers. We do not keep copies, we do not archive your documents, and we do not build any history of your conversions.

We do not open, read, inspect, index, or analyze the contents of your documents. Your files are not sent to any third-party cloud service for conversion — the processing happens entirely on our own infrastructure. There is no user-content database.

4. No Accounts, No Profiles

PlatinPDF does not require, and does not offer, an account. There is no registration, no login, no email collection, no user profile, and no conversion history.

Because we do not identify users and do not retain their files, we do not build advertising or behavioral profiles about you, and we do not sell any data.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

PlatinPDF does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics. We do not profile you and we do not follow you across other websites.

The application may use only strictly necessary technical local storage in your browser so that it can function correctly (for example, remembering interface state on your own device). This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us for tracking purposes.

You remain in full control: you can clear or block local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. Because none of it is used for advertising or tracking, clearing it will not affect your privacy — at most it may reset local interface preferences.

6. Third Parties and Hosting

Your documents are converted on our own infrastructure and are not shared with third-party processors for the conversion itself.

Like any online service, PlatinPDF runs on hosting infrastructure provided by a server hosting provider. That provider supplies the underlying servers and network on which the service operates; it acts as infrastructure only. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your files or your IP address to third parties for their own purposes.

7. Data Retention and Legal Basis

We follow the principle of data minimization. Uploaded files and generated PDFs are not retained — they are deleted immediately after conversion. IP addresses and standard server logs are processed only temporarily and only for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting, and are not used to identify or profile you.

We process this limited data on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure, and abuse-resistant service, and in order to deliver the conversion you request. We do not use your data for marketing.

8. Your Rights (KVKK and GDPR)

We process personal data in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, for visitors located in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Because we do not create accounts and do not retain your files, in most cases we simply do not hold personal data that would let us identify you after your conversion is complete. Where applicable law grants you rights over any personal data we do process, those rights may include:

  • The right to be informed about how your data is processed;
  • The right to request access to any personal data relating to you that we hold;
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate data or deletion of data;
  • The right to object to or request restriction of certain processing;
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.

9. Terms of Use

PlatinPDF is provided free of charge and on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every conversion will be perfectly accurate for every document. You use the service at your own discretion and risk.

You are responsible for the files you upload. You represent that you have the necessary rights to the content you convert and that your use complies with applicable law. You must not use PlatinPDF for any unlawful, infringing, harmful, or abusive purpose, and you must not attempt to disrupt, overload, or circumvent the security or rate limits of the service.

The service enforces usage limits to keep it fair and stable: a maximum of 50 MB per file, and a maximum of 200 MB or 20 files per batch conversion.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. We may update, change, or discontinue features, these terms, or this Privacy Policy at any time; the current version published on this page applies. These terms and any dispute relating to the service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, which is the place of jurisdiction.

PlatinPDF is a general-purpose tool and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 where a higher age applies).
